Estate Control & Unlock (“we”, “us”) is a program of The Magneto Effect. We help families take control of a loved one’s estate by connecting them with an independent, licensed law firm in their state. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and who we share it with.
Information we collect
- What you tell us. When you use the “See if you qualify” form we collect your first and last name, your phone number, your email address if you choose to give one, a description of your situation, how soon you need it resolved, and the state your loved one lived in.
- What you tell us later. Anything you share afterwards by phone, text, email or chat, including notes taken during a call so we can help you without making you repeat yourself.
- Technical information. Your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, and the site or advert that referred you.
- Advertising identifiers. If you arrive from an advert we may receive click and browser identifiers (for example a
fbclidparameter and the_fbp/_fbccookies set by Meta) so we can tell which advert brought you here.
We do not ask for, and you should not send us through this website, Social Security numbers, bank or card details, or medical information.
How we use it
- To work out whether we can help and match you with a law firm licensed in your state.
- To contact you about your enquiry by phone, text message or email, and to schedule a call.
- To pass your details to the law firm handling your matter so they can act on it.
- To measure and improve our adverts and this website.
- To keep records, prevent abuse of our forms, and meet legal obligations.
Contacting you
By submitting the form you agree that we, and the law firm we match you with, may contact you about your enquiry at the number or address you provided — including by autodialled or prerecorded call and by text message. Consent to marketing messages is not a condition of receiving services. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to stop receiving them, or HELP for help. You can ask us to stop contacting you at any time.
Who we share it with
- The law firm we match you with. Once matched, that firm receives your details and handles your information under its own professional and privacy obligations.
- Service providers who run this operation for us — website hosting, our customer relationship management system, telephony and text messaging, email delivery, scheduling and analytics. They may only use your information to provide those services to us.
- Advertising platforms — we share event information with Meta (such as “a page was viewed” or “a form was submitted”) so we can measure our adverts, along with a scrambled version of the name and the phone number or email address you enter in the form, which Meta uses to work out whether you came from one of our adverts. The scrambling happens in your browser, so Meta does not receive those details in readable form. We do not send Meta your location, date of birth or gender.
- Where the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone’s safety.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising beyond the advert measurement described above.
Cookies and the Meta pixel
This site uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for it to work, and the Meta pixel, which reports back to Meta when you view a page or submit the form so we can see which adverts are working.
The pixel also uses a Meta feature called Automatic Advanced Matching. When you submit the form it takes the name and the phone number or email address you typed, turns them into a scrambled code inside your browser, and sends that code to Meta instead of the details themselves. Meta compares it against its own records to tell whether you had seen one of our adverts. We have deliberately switched off the sharing of location, date of birth and gender, and financial, health and government-identification data is never sent.
You can limit all of this through your browser’s cookie settings, and you can control how Meta uses your activity in your Meta account’s advert settings. Blocking it does not stop you using the site or the form.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry records for as long as needed to help you and to meet our record-keeping and legal obligations, and then delete or anonymise them. If we cannot help you, we keep a minimal record so we do not contact you again by mistake.
Your choices
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, ask us to stop contacting you, and — depending on where you live — ask us not to sell or share it (we do not sell it). We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights. If you are a California resident you have these rights under the CCPA/CPRA. To make a request, use the contact route below; we may need to verify who you are first.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted here before they take effect.
